CptMurphy Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 There's a few ways to do this.1. If he isn't an avid comp tech, he proabably left the administrator password blank. At the welcome screen, press ctrl, alt, delete at the same time, two times. This will bring you to the secondary login screen. Enter Administrator as the user and leave the password blank and try it.2. Get a password cracker, there's lots of them out there just use google. Somethine like ERD commander.
jaclaz Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 The procedure CptMurphy suggested may only work if it's an XP Home system, if it's Pro you need a different approach. The easiest methods are:1) Use the UBCD:http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/that includes the NT Password editor:http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html2) Use this online service:http://www.loginrecovery.com/There is also this "poorman's method:http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/pub0009...icle.asp?ID=305if you have the original XP CD, serial and no Service Pack applied, otherwise you will need a slipstreamed CD with the same or later SP.(untested on SP2)jaclaz

IcemanND Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 offline password editorhttp://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/or take the hard drive and place it in a different machine and copy the files off of the drive to your own machine.
Sonic Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 If it's home edition, you can logon with Administrator account just in Safe Mode.
