Maximus Decim InternetExplorer 6.0sp1 Component Update 3.4

Recommended Posts

Caution :

MDIE6CU.EXE (v3.4) contains version 6.00.2800.1599 (xpsp2.040919-1003) of 'mlang.dll', which exhibits the same problems reported for version 6.0.2600.0 : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318256

The last version of 'mlang.dll' which seems okay is 6.00.2800.1106.

Joe.

PS. The broken version of 'mlang.dll' seems to come from Q886677, the okay version comes from IE 6.0 SP1, specifically : http://download.microsoft.com/download/ie6sp1/finrel/6_sp1/W98NT42KMeXP/EN-US/IE_S3.CAB

On the other hand' date=' even after disabling javascript (from inside Maxthon), the crash is still present.

Then it's either / or:

1. server side scripts [Apache htaccess/config, SSI, PHP, Cron, Zen, etc, or whatever MS server/ASP/IIS scripts they might have'] in need of upgrading/changing/better programming = contact the webmaster for the site(s) you're interested to visit in the future.

2. a flaw in all 6.x.xxxx builds of MSHTML.DLL = unfortunately there is no solution, MS discontinued support for all IE 6.0 builds. :-(

I don't think a server-side script can crash your browser.

This is probably a bug in MSHTML.dll. A rare bug because when scripts are disabled eveything should work fine. This is strange.

No crash with K-Meleon.

I get a crash on Facebook, unless I open links on a new tab (or use another browser). When scripts are disabled there is no crash (but the page doesn't appear neither because it's waiting for javascript's response).
