Why? Because it's not that important. First, there should be the option to remove whatever you want, then to tweak.

im with ya on this one...(i see where you are coming from)

alot of us want our games to work great on vista

we are willing to lose any components nessessary to achieve any frame rates.

aviv00 i think nuhi is achieving this in another way with vlite....but with the same result (but no tweaks yet specific for gaming) but by removing components it does free ram and resources up making the games actually work better

i would like vlite (for me) to be like the xbox live OS just so we can play games fast

no extra servvices or anything

just enough so our games will work "Online"

maybe nuhi can give some tips about doing this but prob not...i see vlite is 1.0beta so that means its basically done

i was hoping for something that just had DX and some netwroking and thats it

just enough to make games playable and online

and i would use linux as my main OS

You're not going to get better frame rates by removing components. You can only do that by freeing RAM.

halo 2 is coming in 2 days ...i vlited my vista , anyone know some nice tweaks we can do to improve performance ?

nah dude i just mean we are in vlite 1.0 beta come on....

after all MS telling us about vista that its rebuild from the beginning and its more fast booting and the setup is more fast

how come its not working fast with fast cpu ? and games

doesn't weird for u all ?

i think with tweaks vista could better then xp maybe like the guy that make vista only 150MB of ram and 750MB on HDD
