This is my first topic on this forum.

I just formated my C partition which was my OS drive. I have a lot of data on partition D. But after i reinstalled Windows XP Professional i can not acces drive D. It shows an dialog box where it says that drive d is not formated and ask me weather i want t format it or not.

I do not to format drive D because i have a lot of data in it.

Is there a way i can open drive D without loosing any data?

have you tried accessing it from NC in dos? i recommend you to [wiped by moderator] try accessing the drive in dos with nc.then try repairing the drive with partition magic [wiped too] tools.

Most probably you accidentally "fdisked" the partition table.

The simplest way out is to use this program:

http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk

to try and rebuild it, of course IF data has not been overwritten.

Do take your time understanding how to use it.

Try TestDisk first, and then ask for additional solutions if needed.

Try to Browse the partition in Partition Magic and make backup of data.
