wireman121 Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 I have made at least 8 different CDs trying to fix this problem, but it won't go away. Before I upgraded from 1.0.1 I didnt have this problem. Every time, I use slightly different options to try and figure out what is causing this error. After windows installs completely, and right after the welcome screen I am getting this error. Has anyone else encountered it? Is there a fix yet? It is very frustrating, and I cant get rid of it. I have attached my last session file. Please advise.Last_Session.ini

wireman121 Posted May 2, 2007 Author Posted May 2, 2007 OK so instead of making suggestions on how I could better install windows, or test my installation CD, has anyone found a fix for this problem? I have tried 1.3 RC2 and it is still giving the same error. I rebuilt my session file from scratch (or didnt load one) and I reloaded and reselected all of my options. No luck, still getting this error. I am stuck using an olllldddd version of nlite. Can no one determine what this problem is coming from?!!
nuhi Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 How do you manage to make that popup, I never experienced anything similar?Attach your preset please and I'll try.
Guest jjj123 Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 (edited) How do you manage to make that popup, I never experienced anything similar?Attach your preset please and I'll try.I got the same problem too... I used a winXP SP2 Version which was already nlit by an earlier nlite version. n now I got the SP3 pack slipstreamed it into the XP SP2 using nLite 1.4.5 and there I got the same issue on bootup... the error comes about 6 times... I copied and pasted the nHelper.exe to the system32 but somehow after the second restart the file gone missing n there i got my 6 errors back... Kelsenellenelvian Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 I used a winXP SP2 Version which was already nlit by an earlier nlite versionSorry to tell you this but you have to USE A FRESH source ESPECIALLY when integrating a Service Pack!
franksmith Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 This is such an old problem. The interesting thing is.....I've searched the registry and found the following:(Export of registry entried and I've removed the irrelevant stuff...)Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\MUICache]"C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\nhelper.exe"="nLite Helper Tool"Look, nhelper.exe is called the nLite Helper Tool....Strange....
franksmith Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 I've deleted those registry entries (there are two of them.)I've restarted more than 5 times.Firstly, the welcome screen is dsiplayed a LOT longer, so boot-up takes longer and the error still comes up.HELP
kingsc Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 (edited) I have the same issue too, and I used a fresh XP Pro w/SP3 slipstreamed. It only happens after perform the installation, directly after the XP splash screen I get that error exactly three times then everything's fine so I haven't worried about it.EDIT -- The wierd thing is the first couple versions I made of this didn't do it.... the only thing I remember changing is the boot option to enable ctrl-alt-del.... which by the way doesn't work but I'm too lazy to change it ;p Maybe I have an old version.
