My Fan seems to be dieing, any body have any ideas on a replacement fan?

Id prefer if it was a simple Fan swap, I don't want to rip all the heatsink off as i have no issues with the temp.

It is a Leadtek version

the fan is under the grill on the top

it has a triangle screw pattern (3 screws forming a triangle)

how does it work?

Do I have to remove all the casing then bolt it on top, if so id prefer just a fan swapout replacement

well for just a fan replacement you would have to contact the manufacturer of the heatsink...

i would highly suggest what i posted there. yes, you will have to remove your entire heatskink and put this one on...

If it's failing already, it must not be a ball bearing fan, which last a very long time with great reliability. But they make a little big more noise.

if its not the fan then its the power connector... or he just has a faulty fan... it happens.

Then you'll be wanting to get a Silencer compatible with your video card. I have the same one that Ripken linked to. Visit my blog page here (might display strange in IE, use Firefox or Opera) to view a step by step installation. It's extremely easy and fun. The fan offers much better heat absorption and dissipation out the rear of your case as opposed to simply blowing down on the GPU or away from it, causing the warm air to further ventilate throughout your case.

Unless you're in a Ultra Clean Computer Room, those little fans need to be taken out and thoroughly cleaned about once a year or oftener.

Little known fact: the fans can also be relubricated by using a very small syringe to inject one drop of high quality machine oil through the seal on the bottom of the fan and into the bearing cavity.

I've kept my fans running for years that way....long after the factory lubrication was used up.

Takes a few minutes of your time, but it's sure a lot cheaper than buying new fans, if you can find them.

Well after about a week my card is all assembled again.

Was a major effort had to take the heat sink off anyway.

put some Arctic ceramique on the core and memory while i was about it.

if only i knew to put some oil in

You can peel of the sticker and use some machine-oil on the centre, wait some time and test the fan out again.
