What have i done wrong? anyone knows? but my internet still works!! did i do anything wrong? or is it just some bug of windows? i noticed under "Network Connection Details", that the lease obtained and expire is the same.
nuhi Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I'm having the same issue and I'm embarrassed to say that I'm not sure which service(s) are needed but there was talk about it on the forum, try searching and please let me know if you find it.It works with simple Refresh in the Connections window but that gets annoying eventually.
mau-yong Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 You have disabled DHCP Client service.Enable it for it to stop acquiring network address, but Internet will still work even if you don't enable it .
iceangel89 Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 You have disabled DHCP Client service.Enable it for it to stop acquiring network address, but Internet will still work even if you don't enable it .But in msconfig, i see DHCP Client & DNS Client as "running"! but i sometimes is able to fix the problem by usingipconfig /releaseipconfig /renewand/or "restarting"(untick the service then apply, then tick the service then apply) the DHCP client & DNS Client in msconfig
nuhi Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 strotee76, almost...he isn't completely sure that it's NLA and I vaguely remember trying it and it didn't help...there are probably more services needed.
Breezer Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Try enabling:Application Layer Gatewayand/orNetwork Connections
rajesh.kumar Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 its not with NLA as i have the same problem and i dont remove anything with nlite. i also checked NLA is running. i also tried network setup wizard.
nuhi Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Blah today I kept everything while testing something, just integrated few hotfixes and ie7 and same problem occured. So I'm doubting on the IE7 integration for now.
GrofLuigi Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Two main suspects in my book: NLA and WMI. If the connection is working, but the icon doesn't stop animating, manual fix: right click on the icon, "open network connections", press f5, close window.GL
k_aftab Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Hii had the same problem and it turned out, i had "Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network" option checked in the "Authentication" properties of LAN adapter. Once unchecked it got connected with the right icon. hope this help if not let me know i ll dig up the link.Regards.SC
