hello

can anyone refer a link or an advice, i want to network our branch office across the street about 30 meters, i cant use UTP because of some policy. and its integrity also on weather. if ill use telephone fire? how can i patch it? suggestions and comments are welcome thank you.

For networks there is special cable, you can't use telephone wires. Have you thought about wireless?

Encrypted wireless with directional antennas should do the trick.

Or you could get cosmic with something like microwave or having lines installed. An expensive good time!

Or fiber optics! That's what my school's been doing since 1999!

Good luck - if wireless doesn't work out, I second fiber - it's cheap, you can run it on utility poles (after getting the appropriate permits, at least here in the US), and it's usuallly faster or at least as fast as your network's rated speed. Switches with GBIC ports are usually not too expensive either .
