I need to buy a laptop but I only have $700.

What is the best machine that can I buy with this much?

Please, no Celeron or Sempron!!!

ACER I would say, best price/performance/quality.

And why not a Sempron64? Celeron M I can understand...

EDIT:

Buy a Dell for the warranty.

, That’s just in a few countries, Canada, USA and (part of) Europe seems to have service.

Yeah! could be. but why I´ll buy a Sempron64 if I can buy a Intel Core Duo with this price?

That's true. But a laptop with a cheaper Sempron will probably have some other features for that $700,- like more memory or a bigger harddisk or whatever.

What is best for you depends on your needs. That's why a question like "What is the best buy for my money" is so difficult to answer.

I´ll use this laptop to connect internet, check e-mails, edit text, presentation, and so on. Like a small business.

After a fast search, I can say that these are my choices:

HP Pavilion dv6000t (Core 2 Duo): $729

Lenovo ThinkPad R60 (Core™ 2 Duo Processor): $679.00

ACER Aspire AS5100: $708.99

Dell Inspiron E1505 (Core Duo 1.60GHz/80GB/1GB): $699

Dell Latitude D520: $699

Dell Business Inspiron 6400 (Core Duo 1.83GHz, 1GB RAM, 60GB HDD): $629

Lenovo ThinkPad R60: $679

HP Pavilion dv2000t: $719.99

but I have one problem: the guy who will buy the laptop on EUA for me, can not find the same product for the same price as those web prices, right? so I just have to recommend the processor that I want: Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Turion 64 X2. advices on these?
