Paul 365 Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 Its all becoming clear.....Errr I think so that means before this file was hacked we could not turn off wfp with a just a reg key ie we had to patch the file first and then the key would work. now we can just use the key to turn it on and off.
webmedic Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 yes exactly. which also menas that we had to go through contortions just to get it ther to begin with.
DaveXP Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 a hacked sfc_os.dl is no good with out the registry changes you no. how does one slove that.Good Work on crack the file
Unwonted Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 Copy this into notepad and save as a .reg file, then merge it with the registry.Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]"SFCDisable"=dword:ffffff9dThe default dword value was originally 0.
cyberdiamond Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 This is great!I don't mind windows protection but I think its fantastic to be able to enable and disable it at will with just a reg key change.Great for our installs
junale Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 i thought all the time, you could easily turn off wfp with the reg-keys. does'nt this work? or why do you need the hack?plz, help a greenhorn...
Unwonted Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 You could just do a reg fix until Windows 2000 SP2, I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Just changing the reg key didn't work after that or for Windows XP.

darth Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 You could just do a reg fix until Windows 2000 SP2, I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Just changing the reg key didn't work after that or for Windows XP.as he told - this old registry entry does not work[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWinlogonAdd]"SFCDisable"=dword:FFFFFF9Dsee here - http://www.lanovation.com/support/docs/NT_.../WFP_2000XP.htmon the other hand - disabling system restore helps when replacing system files[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SystemRestore]"DisableSR"=dword:00000001
