DirectX 10 is one of the main selling points for Vista (besides the Aero UI). Other than that, Vista is nearly identical to XP except with a few value-added applications.

I thought that the main selling point of Vista was its security... :lol:

That'd be pretty bad to spend a few hundred bucks just for security...Not to mention that flaws can still exist in the code. Server 2003 had relatively few security issues because of a massive code review, but MS didn't have time to do the same for Vista...

Are you meaning they did loose 2003 code ? Or that they just sleep since 2003 relelase ?

About the Inquirer's article, that's funny... ok, having a "sort of" dx10 on XP can make dx10 games run on XP, but what about hardware ? AFAIK, dx10 include software support for some new hardware-based effects.
