longtongfish Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Hi all,I used nLite to create a installation disc. However, after installing I knew that some programs like IE, OE all were removed from the disc. I tried to recreate the disc without removing anything but I failed.Could you tell me how to keep all the programs?Thank you.
Mikep7779 Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 You have to RE-nlite from a CLEAN or FULL version of XP, you cant just re-add them in.
longtongfish Posted October 4, 2006 Author Posted October 4, 2006 Thanks for your answer. However, I don't know what options/steps to do to keep all the thing from removing. Could you tell me how to do when run nLite? Thanks.
Jeremy Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Re-copy the contents of your XP CD to your harddrive.Open nLite and browse to the main directory so that the I386 folder is seen and the source is properly identified. When you get to the Remove Components page, whatever you want to keep, just make sure there isn't a checkmark next to it.
longtongfish Posted October 4, 2006 Author Posted October 4, 2006 Hi, I left everything unchecked but after I had installed the PC with that disc I did not see either IE or OE.The first time I ran nLite I did not choose to remove any components and I got the same result. The next time, I chose that step but when I got to the page I did not check any components to be removed. And the same result I got.Could you please tell me exactly what to do in detail (from scratch)? Thanks so much.
anonymous_user Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 maybe its just the icons are missing?u could try running Internet Explorer by pressing "Windows key + R", typing "iexplore.exe" where it says open, and then clicking ok.similarly do the same for Outlook Express "msimn.exe"
