TomcaT Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I have got 2 x 200gb Maxtor HDs, and they are currently in Raid 1 configuration, my question is quite simple really:Is it possible convert to Raid 0 without reformatting and installation of software/data etc and is it possible to do the reverse?? I know the pros and cons of each configuration with regards to data safety etc....Just want to try it more than anything else.....Not sure if this is the correct forum, if not, apologies up front.All comments appreciated.Cheers,TC.

jago_lfn Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 A good way to find out is to try it out. In the bios just make sure you choose NOT to clear data when you change the stripe (Choose N)
big poppa pump Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Yes, you have to reformat and reinstall windows when swtiching over from Raid 1 to Raid 0.
nitroshift Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Even if it doesn't present you with the option to format, it will format the drives on its own. Back-up your data anyway.
