techguy21801 Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 i went to the new windowsupdate.microsoft.com site and it gave me this:Thank you for your interest in Windows UpdateWindows Update is the online extension of Windows that helps you get the most out of your computer. The latest version of Windows Update is available on computers that are running Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 2000 (except Windows 2000 Datacenter Server), Windows XP, and the Windows Server 2003 family.i'm running a 2000 server box does this mean i can't update my server any more?
Aaron Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 hmm. XPerties got the exact same error today too.No problems on my Windows 2000 Pro, but I'll find out what's going on.Meanwhile, flush your cache out.
DaveXP Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 Its your firewall i had the same problem some time back disable it and it should work for you.
techguy21801 Posted August 19, 2003 Author Posted August 19, 2003 ok just checked it again and it came up maybe this is their new error page..weird.
Drewdatrip Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 Microsoft has done some modification to the windows update site in light of the MSblaster worm.....May be related to that...|Drew|
darkkavenger Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 Check if you have in IE Settings, section languages, at least one language installed. The lack of language installed caused my Wupdate at work to report errors.
techguy21801 Posted August 19, 2003 Author Posted August 19, 2003 it's not the firewall...it's m$ acting weird

jayroller Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 I installed the Server 2003 Sp1 (v1039) lat night, now when I go to windowsupdate, it scans my computer, then shows "Windows Update is looking for available updates... 100% complete" - and thats it. Nothing else happens. Is it the SP, or is windowsupdate just doing what come naturally to a microsoft product?

jayroller Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 or you dont get the message where it says that you have all the lates software installed?Precisely, it never says "no updates available...", just gets stuck on displaying 100% complete. Just wondering if it's a known issue with SP1 - which so far has been solid apart from this, no glitches or errors (*crosses fingers*) - or if its related to other peoples problems with the windowsupdate site.
vcant Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 windows update worked fine for me today, i would say the problem is SP1.....
darkkavenger Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 Did it propose you a security update for IE6 or Outlook Express 6? It kept showing me no updates available until today. But i was able before to install other updates. On the Knowledge Base, Microsoft says this problem can come from having no language installed on the Tools/Settings/Language windows in IE.
