Camarade_Tux Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 (edited) I use :MPC + ffdshow,Plays everything, light, and only plays medias. It can also record if you need.MPC (official builds) : http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/MPC (nightly) : http://ffdshow.faireal.net/mirror/Media%20Player%20Classic/Also, MPlayer+MPUI (NB: gMPlayer for windows is official now)MPUI is a frontend for MPlayer which is a command-line player, the best frontend imho.MPlayer is able to dump stream, audio, video or both.It plays even more than vlc.It decodes and seek sooo fast, the only choice if you need a previewer for a P2P client.Last it's really light.Oh, and forgot : decoding quality is excellent.MPlayer (official, mainly standalone but you may need so files from the official package) : http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/news.html download : http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.htmlCVS builds (platform optimized) : http://ffdshow.faireal.net/mirror/mplayer/MPUI : http://mpui.sourceforge.net/ (to be put in the same folder as mplayer.exe) Edited July 27, 2006 by Camarade_Tux

DigeratiPrime Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 MPUI (MPlayer Frontend), MPC (MediaPlayerClassic) + FFDShow, rulesPlayer (another MPlayer Frontend), VLC, XMPlay (audio player).
Mangix Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 the only 2 media players that i use are foobar2000 and Media Player Classic. foobar2000 is what i use for my huge collection of music and Media Player Classic for videos and single music files. there is nothing better than the combination of those two
Camarade_Tux Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 MPUI (MPlayer Frontend), MPC (MediaPlayerClassic) + FFDShow, rulesPlayer (another MPlayer Frontend), VLC, XMPlay (audio player).rulesPlayer looks nice. But I'm wondering how old it is. Is it more than 2 months old ?
prx984 Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 i use iTunes for my music collection, i always hated apple, but then before i got my iPod i started using iTunes and i like it. its easy to use. i just like the way it organizes my music, all in one list. its better than Win media player in that respect. Winamp has that feature, but im not crazy about the look of winamp anymore. iv gone off it it anyway, regards

Chozo4 Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Winamp 2.91 for audioWinamp 2.91 for video using VID4WA plugin (+full dvd support)Plays any audio\video as long as the codecs are installed.Reason for winamp 2.91? Does what I need with low resource usage and zero complaints.

Cash717 Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I chose realplayer because it's easy to use and looks cool
CoffeeFiend Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Latest winamp for music. And another vote for ZoomPlayer for video (it TRULY blows everything else away in terms of playback configuration i.e. custom media playback mode; ffdshow for post-processing!) I also VLC and MPC occasionnaly... They're not bad, but it's not quite ZP.
ideas Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 VLC is the best, i've tried all ur players except for zoom and VLC performed better.... pls send the link for zoomplayer
