Alanoll Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Virtual PC 2004 Service Pack 1 (SP1) is a powerful software virtualization solution that allows you to run multiple PC-based operating systems simultaneously on one workstation, providing a safety net to maintain compatibility with legacy applications while you migrate to a new operating system. It also saves reconfiguration time, so your support, development, and training staff can work more efficiently.http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtualpc...nloads/sp1.mspxEnjoy
Zxian Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 You beat me to it... I just saw this as well... Very very interesting move by Microsoft.Edit - What works and what doesn't in Microsoft Virtual PC 2004
Tarun Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 If I'm reading this right. MSVPC is now totally free?
Zxian Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Microsoft Virtual PC is completely free - no twists, tricks, or other funny stuff. Download, install, run forever. This should definately be added to the Unattended Page.
tain Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 You guys are FAST! I just downloaded/installed this a while ago and was going to report on it. The download is about 18MB and the install was actually pretty painless compared to VMWare which installs/autoruns a bunch of services.
prx984 Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 (edited) what about the people that bought it though? Edited July 13, 2006 by Cygnus

Zxian Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 @TAiN - I already posted that link above...Edit - On a similar note... VMware Server Now Free. Now... if only VMware Workstation became free...
tain Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Doh! Sorry about that...must have been running low on caffeine at the time
LLXX Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 I don't really see a difference between VMware workstation and VMware server, it seems that both do essentially the same thing but the server one is intended for servers.
