AstroFan
I recently purchased Norton AntiVirus Professional Edition 2003, and when I try to do a full scan it automatically stops scanning and closes after about 50,000 files. I've tried about 15 times and it always closes. I have Windows XP. Any idea's on what is wrong and how to fix it?(if this is in the wrong forum, I apologize. Since this is mainly about Norton, I thought this would be the best place.)
Drewdatrip
I would try to run the Virus scan under Safe mode.To enter this mode, Hold down F8 with Xp starts to load, it will give you options, choose Safe mode.Im not sure if this will work for sure, cause i do recall some versions of NAV to require a min od 24bit color......If all else fails, goto run and type "msconfig" and disable all in startup and select dianostic start up. This will limit the things that may be causing the system to lock part way through the scan.|Drew|
Tinker
Have you ran the Live update yet? If that does not help you may have to uninstall NAV and install it again...
Corvette
CAUTION! Dianostic start up will erase ALL system restore points! When booting when using this mode, ALWAYS create a restore point when coming back to the desktop after going back to normal startup mode!
