Petr
Make sure you have all updates installedWhat means "all updates"?So you mean:1. Clean Windows 98 SE install, default (or what?) components2. All updates from Windows Update (IE6 yes or no?)3. Install http://download.microsoft.com/download/win...us/dun14-se.exe4. Install http://download.microsoft.com/download/win...N-US/msl2tp.exeor anything more?Petr

Petr
Yes to everything including the Unofficial Patches from MDGx/MSFN site.1.Default Install2.Yes IE63.Yes 4.YesSo I have prepared clean full Windows 98SE install + IE6.0SP1 full install + I have installed the the a.m. packages, it was necessary to uninstall Internet Connection Sharing before to install the msl2tp.exe package. Then I went to Start menu -> Programs -> Microsoft IPSec VPN -> Microsoft IPSec VPN Help and it displayed correctly. Then I entered the a.m. URL (starting with mk: ) to IE and again the page displayed correctly. What other test should fail?I dont't know what Unofficial patches you have installed? Maybe there is the problem?Petr
PROBLEMCHYLD
Install Mdac 2.8 and all its components. After that thats when the bug occur.
Petr
Install Mdac 2.8 and all its components. After that thats when the bug occur. This was the most important information!OK, so I have installed http://www.microsoft.com/Downloads/details...;displaylang=en+ the update and really - the pictures in this .chm file are not displyed now and the error message appears. All other .chm files are still displayed correctly. So it is not clear whether the problem is in the Msseclnt.chm file itself or in something that was changed by MDAC 2.8 SP1. It will not be so easy to find what change has caused this new behavior:92 files added92 files modified1637 registry entries added49 registry entries deleted428 registry entries modified.....Petr

erpdude8
try installing the latest unofficial HTML Help 1.41 patch from MDGx's web site. Delete the hh.exe, hhctrl.ocx, itircl.dll and itss.dll files and then install the updated HTML Help 1.41 program. The from Regedit, delete the"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility" registry key and go to Add/Remove programs, select Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Tools and choose the option to Repair Internet Explorer and restart the computer.sometimes I do that in order to get some CHM Help files to work correctly. If following these tips do not work then there is definitely a problem with the Msseclnt.chm file.

Sl@y3D for my n@me
Apart from uninstalling MDAC 2.8? There really isn't much else you can do. I don't see why you would need it to be honest, but if you do, you'll have to live with it. Sorry.
