midiboy Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Hi !Yeah, a mst file would be better if possible because then it could be used on other language versions besides english and it could possibly be used for future builds. But thanks anyway ! Alex

ajua Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 (edited) Here's the mst for KIS 6.0.0.300. Enjoy!!! thanks, i already tried it and it worked. it auto reboots when you restart your computer and KIS is loading the first time.can you please tell me exactly what you modified so i can learn for future builds?then only thing i saw at first glance is a line that says buildType=0:1:0:0 and something from InstallExecute but im not sure.NOTE: i noticed that the installer creates a log file so any of you installing from cd may want to run it hdd or add a switch to create log file somewhere else. ScOOt3r Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 thanks elajua for the Reg info, that not the problem *I think*, what i think is that its that new version of .msi file cause i if i use the original from their website it isntalls with Reg info, but when i used the modded file.msi it wont install. i have alos tried the .mst files above but have never dealt with them and not sure the proper order to get it to work... hint... any info would be appreciated.ScOOt3r!
midiboy Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Hi !@ScOOt3r: run the msi that way for instance: kavde.msi TRANSFORMS=kav.mst /quiet /passive /norestart@all:Thanks for the mst. Works fine also on the German version. KAV does not reboot after installation. However, on the first reboot after the installation, KAV will cause windows to reboot without warning and then afterwards still claim that a reboot is necessary. So you have to reboot twice after installation just for KAV. Cool program, hah ? Also, the post install wizard does not come up and I think, the new version just completely broke my Windows installation on my Sony Vaio SZ notebook. At least thats the last thing I installed. It worked fine before but after the reboot I cannot do anything anymore in Windows. I am locked out of the network, I cannot start KAV config or any other program, I cannot disable the services, I cannot deinstall KAV anymore, Windows simply does not react anymore to any userinput. reboots did not help and since the MSI installer obviously does not work in safe mode I cannot uninstall KAV there either so after wasting hours I decided to completely reinstall Windows.Just to warn some of you that this version may not be that stable on some configs. (works fine on my desktop PC though)Bye,Alex
