psu +12

i have a prob... seems like my +12V has dropped to 7.5V+. how do i solve this? i have the generic psu. i've also tried with hec 335 but still remains the same. i have a p4 630 with asus p5rd1-vm board 1gb ram x800xl

& 2x ide 1x sata 1x dvdrw. what's the consequence? i'm planning to buy a new psu by next week though.

I would try another program as well. I've seen some weird stuff out of the Asus utility. If another utility gives you the same result you should definitely replace the power supply as soon as possible...and try to run the system as little as possible (read: not at all) until you do. Undervolting components can cause just as much damage as overvolting.

There is no problem... your computer wouldn't even boot if +12 was at 7.5... I don't trust software monitors for this reason - they aren't very accurate. Anything below 10 volts is likely not going to boot.

dont trust software voltage moniters, more commen then not they are very wrong.

if you want a good reading just pick up a digital multimeter at radio shack or somewhere for 5$

the yellow wires are 12v

and the red ones are 5v i think

black = ground
