So...Microsoft's come out with a new DirectX SDK. Will HFSLIP slipstream this extra *bloat*, or will it need to be modified first?

Edit: Never mind, found the answer. By the way, what are the other dated CAB files in the redistributable for (this doesn't include the x64 ones)? Examples are Oct2005_xinput_x86.cab and Feb2006_MDX1_x86.cab.

Only the *d3dx9* files are of importance for the moment. These are used for the preprocessing of shaders and game developers are taking advantage of this already. The XInput technology doesn't seem to have as much impact for the moment. At least, noone here asked to include it yet citing "a game" that requires it. It's supposed to replace DirectInput in the long run.

I don't know about the new file. It's another new thing, apparantly.

Edit: just add in the Feb2006_d3dx9_29_x86.cab file; it's gonna be processed by HFSLIP.

Where did you find the new sdk?? I´ve searched microsoft for havin a look at it, but i´m unable to find.

This is an SDK...so there is possibly no relation with gaming performance increases for a person who is just interested in getting the latest DX version for gaming? Am I right? Or wrong?
