question about NTLDR & NTDETECT.COM -into FIX folder ?

Hi all,

I have Ntldr and Ntdetect.com from Windows 2003 SP1. Since I've read that they will make WinXP boot faster, I wanna substitute the XP files with them using HFSlip.

So,I'd like to know if I have to put them on the FIX folder or I can just copy them into the I386 folder (overwriting the existing ones).

Thanks in advance for the help

Are there any other drop and replace files like these in 2003 or XP that might be useful in 2k?

I was (really) bored the other day and abused my bandwidth to download a trial ISO of 2003 just to get these two files, if theres anything else I can pull off of there I'll feel better about wasting my 25 cent CD-R.

I'm curious what's faster for Win2k: ntldr & NTDETECT.COM from WinXP, or Win2k3?

I noticed extreme boot speed improvements from XP's files, so I'm wondering if I could get those again.

Has anyone tried out Vista's?

I'm using 2k3's on 2k, it seems pretty much the same as using XP's. It could be very slightly faster, I don't know, but I am sure its not slower since I'm impatient as hell.

I thought Vista is changing how it boots in the final builds, so no importing from it...?
