Mocht4R Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 I want to load my harddrive on a different computer. This harddrive was originally on my ibm thinkpad laptop. Is there anyway to load it on a different computer?thanks
nmX.Memnoch Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Different computer as in another laptop or a desktop computer? If you mean another laptop then yeah, just move it over. If you mean in a desktop you'll have to get a converter because laptop hard drives are a different physical size than desktop drives and they use a different connector.
ripken204 Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 you can do what he said but if you dont want to switch out the hdd then you can just transfer the files over a home network, or you can buy an ethernet crossover cable.
Mocht4R Posted January 14, 2006 Author Posted January 14, 2006 Yes, i just want to transfer and use this as an "external" harddrive that can be portable from computer to computer. Is there a hardrive booter sort of thing that connects to the hard drive, and from the harddrive connects to the computer using a usb cable?
puntoMX Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 (edited) You need to buy an external housing for that, like this:Vantec;NST-260U2-BK NST-260U2-BL NST-260U2-RDINFO Edited January 15, 2006 by puntoMX
