Aegis Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I know you guys might think I'm paranoid asking this question, but can anyone send me the latest version of CoolWebSearch to test? I want to see how the software works and *hopefully* manage to immunize my project from infection .

Aegis Posted January 12, 2006 Author Posted January 12, 2006 (edited) Some of the variants even used methods of hiding and running themselves that had never been used before in any other spyware strains.http://www.intermute.com/cwshredder/learn_...cwshredder.htmlMakes me want to obtain it even more ! Is there some way to save the drive-by download file onto my computer? Edited January 12, 2006 by Aegis

LLXX Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Disable your ActiveX and scripting of the browser, then visit some of the more ad-infested and suspicious sites and view the source code. Embedded somewhere in the scripting code should be the link to the actual executable (quite often, it's named SETUP.EXE). Just download that and you have the self-contained malware.
