You guys are completely in the dark here.

By the time I put the floppy disk containing the drivers, it DIED.

Then before I could go download the drivers, my IDE drive died.

Now my Seagate SATA drive is brand new. I'm not booting from the drive, I'm booting from a CD and when I get to Windows Setup, it says no disk drive was found.

nLite's Help box in the Driver Integration section says for textmode drivers you need to have a "txtsetup.oem" file in the same folder. Well, I searched the entire PC and no such file exists before or after nLite-ment.

I'm thinking it may not have worked the first time with nLite because I checked the "Delete after install" box, so I will waste another CDR without having that checked and see if it works.

Also, my SATA controller is a SiS 964. I downloaded the latest drivers from the SiS homepage for WinXP and they're called "SiS 180" drivers, but they are for SATA/RAID.

is the new drive showing up in the bios at all?

The txtsetup.oem file is used differently than the typical INF and sys files for windows drivers. That file only works at boot. I use that F6 prompt fairly often building servers at work, and always with a floppy with that file. I'm not sure how nLite would slipstream that. I've never gotten it to work otherwise without a floppy.

The SIS drivers you mentioned have a FloppyImage folder. Is that where you got the txtsetup.oem file to slipstream? That file (and its matching resource folder) should be all that's needed from a floppy standpoint, but unfortunately I cannot help with nLite.

Just had to do the same with an Opteron board.

Vitalix, thanks for that info. I guess I should just get a floppy drive. GreenMachine's guide to integrating SATA/RAID drivers confuses me a tiny bit. He says that by doing what he does, you don't need to use the floppy nor press F6. But I guess I did something wrong.

I tried integrating again with nLite, and left the "Delete After Install" box unchecked, didn't work.

Windows Setup still said it couldn't find the disk drive. If It could only see it!!

If you integrate the drivers don't press F6. It will fail if you do that.

Integrating the drivers requires you to do a completely unattended setup with a WINNT.SIF answer file and the $OEM$ structure for it to work properly. If that confuses you just pickup a USB floppy drive if you don't have a floppy drive in your PC. Do a normal XP setup with a normal XP CD (no nLite). Put the drivers on the floppy (be sure there's a txtsetup.oem file in the root of the floppy), boot the CD, press F6 and search the floppy when it asks.

If that doesn't work then you either have the wrong SATA drivers or you have a hardware problem.

To be sure that you have the correct driver go to the link below and select "Chipset software", then "SATA & RAID" then "Windows XP".

I don't press F6, because integrating the drivers should assure me that that is no longer necessary.

I did go to Chipset > SATA > Windows XP and get the latest drivers.

Waaaiiit... I just found the txtsetup.oem and put it in the same folder as the SATA/RAID drivers. nLite gave me a new box with options for specific OS! Made another ISO! Will let you know if it FINALLY works!

You're absolutely right. Thanks for that. It was really driving me to insanity. I felt like throwing it out the window at times, bashing it all to hell, and even selling it. I've never dealt with SATA drives before I was completely in the dark. Now I know what has to be done and I don't even need a floppy drive because of nLite! I hope people can learn from this thread in the future.

I have a similar problem, I'm upgrading the motherboard, cpu, and video card on a friend's computer and when I attempt to boot the system I get an error message Verifying DMI Pool Table and the boot process hangs, can anybody help me out with how to fix this error as I don't know how to update the DMI to accept the new hardware. I installed an AMD Athlon X2 dual core processor, a K8 Triton motherboard, and a Geforce 7800 GT OC videocard. Also the computer has XP Pro installed.

Also confirm the BIOS version that you have supports X2. For the newer boards, they support it fine, but for some of the older ones (as early as September) you may need a BIOS update from the motherbaord website.

Also, what power supply do you have? The 7800GT eats power.

Now, when you say you upgraded the motherboard, video, and cpu, are you actually trying to boot the old hard-drive with XP installed?

If so, that will blue screen everytime. What are you upgrading from?

ya, you will need to reinstall windows. but clear the cmos and see if u can even get paste that.

Yes, I was trying to boot the old hard drive with XP installed. The power supply is a 350 watt unit which I saw needs to be upgraded as well to a minimum 400 watt. I am upgradeing from a Soyo SY-K7V DRAGON Plus motherboard to a K8 Triton series nForce4 motherboard. Now, after attemtping to reinstall it gives a disk read error message during post and won't go any further. The hard drive gave no problems before upgrade however know I wonder if it is still any good.
