Aegis Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Dust clogging not only takes away from a computer's appearance, but also slows down a fan and lowers cooling. Is there any way to stop this?
EchoNoise Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 </sarcasm>Pop the computer in an air-tight bag and use a vacuum <sarcasm>
big poppa pump Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 What are fan filters? One word " Google"!
EchoNoise Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 http://www.directron.com/sff8.htmlKinda like them== I CAN FEEL MY SPIDEY SENSES TINGLING ==erm...
ripken204 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 my case came with filters for the front 2 air vents, i need to clean them every 2 weeks b/c they are loaded with dust
Aegis Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 Do they block all of the dust or some of it? Does it reduce airflow?
ripken204 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 does redouce air flow, and it blocks most of the dust, some gets thru but barely any
Aegis Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 By how much does it reduce the air flow?
ripken204 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 dont know, not too much. dont worry about it tho, way better than having to open your case and clean everything in there.
Aegis Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 But there's no way to clean the power supply...Unless I want to endanger my life .
EchoNoise Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 You can clean your power supply, remove it from the power, and get an dechargement device (don't know where you can buy one from though...) and decharge the capacitors, and use some air in a can
Jeremy Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Way to prevent dust = vacuum oftenEnough dust can conduct electricity. You get a s***load in your PSU, say bye bye to it.A can of compressed air is a godsend.
