gdogg Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 who every said anything about upx and reshacking?xpge is just windows xp, no matter what you call it, xp embedded, xp home , 2k3 , its all the same, when it comes to shrinkin it down.and yes, there is millions of benifits to a 37MB \windows, with all your talk about malware, I figured you'd of understood, guess you've gone another route.and what ever happened to 64bit? guess your not going that route no more?
ripken204 Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 gdogg- we have talked of making a x64 but not until the 32bit all done withand do u think that microwinx will work on xpge?
Aegis Posted March 24, 2006 Author Posted March 24, 2006 @GdoggSure a smaller OS has a smaller attack surface, but like I said...up to a point. What's the benefits of MicroWinX that aren't present in a heavily nLited system?
gdogg Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 (edited) @ripken microwinX, yes beta 2.0 would of worked fine in xpge, but, wouldn't be as small of an install as with nlite, until I test xpge and made it get the missing stuff.@Aegis 99.9% of microwinX's security has nothing to do with nlite. Aegis Posted March 24, 2006 Author Posted March 24, 2006 @GdoggYou didn't answer the question though...what's the benefits of MicroWinX that aren't present in a heavily nLited system? And since when have you tested XPGE?
gdogg Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 sorry my gramma wasn't to par there 101anyway, the benifits will be seen when it goes public shortly.but currently. the decribed benifits were, smallest windows xp install with UI out there. security like windows has never had (defaultly ) and the lack of ability to infect your computer, even with access to the machine.I could go on, but all these question have been answered b4, this isn't a thread about microwinX , and I am wasting your time.
babudeoha Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 (edited) In my humble opinion, Tom is right. Edited March 24, 2006 by babudeoha

Sofer Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 just wondering, my computer is showing that this thread is only 32 pages right now, but I could have sworn it was in the upper 40s, anyone else see the same thing?--Sofer
gdogg Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 (edited) no your not alone in that.I got the same issue. lolbut I know why, (even my thread lost pages)it seems every page got a bit longer too. Edited March 30, 2006 by gdogg
ripken204 Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 i beleive that it went from 25 to 30 posts a pageand aegis, when can we have a public beta!!??
Aegis Posted March 31, 2006 Author Posted March 31, 2006 @Ripken204When I feel like it . Lol I mean when I'm not being bombarded with huge projects worth 10% of my grade . I'll have a week of break in a week from now, so hold on tight.
gdogg Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 (edited) @aegisI've felt like that a few times, being bombared with stuff in life, then being bombared with requests for your project at the same time.anyway, remember life comes first, even with all the delays with my project users support still goes strong.oh and dont rush it to public, in the end it might just send out a false image, you wern't going for. When you feel happy with it, thats normally a good time for public. Edited March 31, 2006 by gdogg
Sofer Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Hey Gdogg, i know this is kind of off topic, but I see in your signature your box, and it's pretty nice, I was just wondering how much did it cost you to put it all together?
Aegis Posted March 31, 2006 Author Posted March 31, 2006 (edited) Sorry guys, but I've been so overwhelmed lately that I don't think I can continue on with this project anymore...Sorry to disappoint . Edited March 31, 2006 by Aegis
