Nakatomi2010 Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I'm maing an OEM Logo and I'd like it to go seamlessly with the background of the System Properties windows... What are the RGB values of the color you've got it set to?
DL. Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 (edited) Don't use any colour, set it to be transparent! Edited November 25, 2005 by DL.
Nakatomi2010 Posted November 25, 2005 Author Posted November 25, 2005 When I set it to transparent in Photoshop, then save it as a bmp, it adds a background when saved...Or am I missing something?
XPero Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 save it as 32 bit file (24 bit + alpha channel) There are some freeware apps to make 32 bit bmps (transparent)
No6 Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 (edited) When I set it to transparent in Photoshop, then save it as a bmp, it adds a background when saved...Or am I missing something? If you duplicate the background colour of the System Window and use it as background for your logo, you won't have to worry about transparency. Edited November 25, 2005 by No6

Not a really good solution IMO.
Martijn Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 There are many so called color droppers around wich give you the color-code that you can use in photoshop.
Ðrзω™ Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 My way of making a seamless OEM logo:Start a NEW image in Photoshop with a TRANSPARENT background, set it to the size of your OEM logo.Design as you wish but don't fill the background with anything (obviously )Save the image as a PNG with transparency. Then get the little tool I've attached to this post, drag your PNG into it and make sure in the app .BMP is selected in the dropdown menu. Once you drag and drop the PNG into this window, look where your PNG was saved, you will now have a perfect replica in BMP format with proper alpha channels and it will look pr0 on any theme, no droppers no magic pink background, just a nice 32-bit OEM logo AlphaConv tool: Click To Download
EchoNoise Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Hey that tools pretty **** useful...I was using IrfanView to convert between formats, and it worked great... but yeah
