syedali Posted November 12, 2005 Author Share Posted November 12, 2005 (edited) When i connect that T568A cable Switch to computer it is working fine.I connect only T568A cable Router to System NIC.Then i tried in MS.Dos ipconfigIt is showing IP Address 169.254.93.174 Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 I typed on Browser http://169.254.93.174 didn't get anything Cannot find server problem came.There is a little reset button, either on the front.I restard it.Same problem Cannot find server.Then after i tried Switch to Router.Crossover cableT568B -->Port on switch 1st EndStraight cableT568A --> WAN on router 2nd EndIn Router Port1----->Straight cableT568A------>Computer NICIn Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties,the following IP address 192.168.1.25, 255.255.255.0,GW address 192.168.1.1,DNS 61.9.1.69 61.9.1.71Then after in M.SDos i typed ipconfigIt is showing IP Address 192.168.1.1,Subnet mask 255.255.255.0I typed on Browser http://192.168.1.1 didn't get anything problem came Cannot find server problem.I removed all those IP Address,GW,DNS.Onces I Restared Router.Ii checked ipconfigIt is coming same IP Adress 169.254.93.174Subnet mask 255.255.0.0 Same thing cannot find server.you could check the switch documentation, if it auto-mdx's, you wouldn't even need a crossoverHow to check switch documentationPls any one give me helpfull sugession.Thanks for replay Edited November 12, 2005 by syedali Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
chucktx Posted November 14, 2005 Share Posted November 14, 2005 Don't Use the WAN port. Use a regular cable and go from the uplink port on one of the devices to a regular port on the other. If you already bought a crossover cable and just want use it then go between the two uplink ports. You will not get all 4 ports from the linksys.
