Hello everybody. I am helping My friend Yestarday we purchased Brodband Router VOIP Voice with 2phone ports. LinkSys Model No.RTP300 we have 2 systems,one is Laptop and another is Desktop One side cable connector from ISP's puting to router,and another systems connected through Via router.At that time systems are not working.When i configure in one single system ip,gateway,DNs it is working fine.But when i connect via Router to system is not working. ISP's provide me. IP Address 172.23.13.8 Gateway 172.23.13.1 subnet 255.255.255.0 Dns 202.65.128.251 Alt Dns 202.65.128.2 Defualt Router Ip is 169.254.214.147,Subnet 255.255.255.0 Even I changed this one also.I set this all configurations in my router Ip 172.23.13.8,Gateway 172.23.13.1 to automatic configuration but is not working. I restart some many time to router.But it is not configure. (ISP------------------------------->System)It is working fine. (ISP--------->Vairouter----------->systems)It is not working. Any one help me give helpfull sugessions.

All machines we are using in NTFS only. I connected one system Win98 to WinXP PCs it is working fine.But my problem is i want to connect one more system Winxp Network to win98.

Thank you very much Bilou_Gateux I have a network at my office (50 pc's wired to our Switch)one system I gave a main computer that shares its files with the other computers all the same make-up and in the same workgroup.No server here.All systems running on winxp professional.

Hi everyone guys i'm an administrator at network with 50 computers and everyweek we need to format at least one computer... we doing this using ghost images that are on cd's. Now i remembered that when i was in school every time they wanted to run ghost they was choosing "boot from network device" in the bios, and the resterating the computer and it was booting from the network to a ghost that was running the image. Anyone knows or any idea perfect how to do this? When i connect that T568A cable Switch to computer it is working fine. I connect only T568A cable Router to System NIC. Then i tried in MS.Dos ipconfig It is showing IP Address 169.254.93.174 Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 I typed on Browser http://169.254.93.174 didn't get anything Cannot find server problem came. There is a little reset button, either on the front.I restard it. Same problem Cannot find server. Then after i tried Switch to Router. Crossover cableT568B -->Port on switch 1st End Straight cableT568A --> WAN on router 2nd End In Router Port1----->Straight cableT568A------>Computer NIC In Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties,the following IP address 192.168.1.25, 255.255.255.0,GW address 192.168.1.1,DNS 61.9.1.69 61.9.1.71 Then after in M.SDos i typed ipconfig It is showing IP Address 192.168.1.1,Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 I typed on Browser http://192.168.1.1 didn't get anything problem came Cannot find server problem. I removed all those IP Address,GW,DNS. Onces I Restared Router. Ii checked ipconfig It is coming same IP Adress 169.254.93.174 Subnet mask 255.255.0.0 Same thing cannot find server. you could check the switch documentation, if it auto-mdx's, you wouldn't even need a crossover How to check switch documentation Pls any one give me helpfull sugession.Thanks for replay

If u have 2 nic, in my network places u can see 2 networks .. Select both networks & right click then u will get an option to bridge after that u will get one more network in tha my network places 1st Local Area Connection Take the property there is an option to give DNS Only DNS And ADNS 202.188.0.133 202.188.0.135 (this is defualt ISP) 2nd Local Area Connection2 Take the property there is an option to give ip Only IP Address and Subnet mask 192.168.0.2 255.255.255.0 Then Bridge this two LAC.Right click Bridge it. Take the property there is an option to give ip and DNS Network bridge ip 192.168.1.48 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1 202.188.0.133 202.188.0.135 Then go to other pc give an ip (192.168.0.3) then set the gateway as 192.168.0.2 (in the second pc ) OR some time support only DNS without ip and without gateway. use cross cables tested ..
