How to create cab file?

Featured Replies

hi guys,

I want to create a cab file but don't know how to do that.

Can you help me?

Thx, e1

IN windows iexpress in the run box

Google is your friend!

-makecab.exe

-cabarc.exe

-Programs like WinRAR, PowerArchiver,...

I wasn't aware that WinRAR was capable of creating CAB files...:D

Hi guys,

I found out that PicoZip can create a cab file just by right clicking your mouse!!

It's great!

Alzip is best for this it will create .cab files with ease and best of all its free for personal use.

-=Get me=-

Away with all that!

Has to be "makecab.exe" for me!

Q: Can you make anything into a .CA_ file and that will extract out of I386 always?

You could cram some stuff in, like an entire cabbed folder of unattended proggies - anything,

or can you only make single files into .CA_ files?! Huh, where's that PicoZip :blushing:

I have found Pico Zip doesnt have the proper compression for cabs. Whe comparing the size of a folder made to .cab and .zip they are the same size.
