warrior1109
I use Acronis Drive Cleanser, it does the same as Iolo Drive Scrubber, but from a bootable cd, and is faster. It works well for me.
bledd
I find this always works for destroying datai tried this and then I couldn't format it to install windows on it
jaclaz
No way a hammer is the appropriate tool, you need a hacksaw to partition hard disks, Figure 4.4 of this nice howto shows the details:http://members.aol.com/spoons1000/break/ jaclaz
Doenja
Lowlevel format will do the job perfect. Just use te manufacture utilitie to do that. I always do that after my drive is screwed up trough all the resizing and partitioning actions I do as a well experienced userDoenja
tltan86
I got a question here... Any advantages over using Lowlevel format on harddisk? And why would anyone trouble to destroy the data as in described in the first few message? Why can't just format the drive?
net_user
because formating even low level formating does not actually get rid of the data.you can still retreive the data off using the right software.if you plan on getting rid,selling,trading..ect...your hd then you need to "wipe" your hd clean.for home use and reusing...formating and low level formating is ok.
