sonu27 Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 (edited) Well I want to know what you think is the best web page editor. If its the same program but older version then just still vote for the program up there.I just stated the 3 main ones. There are many more, of course.I'm going to be going with TopStyle Pro because I work with code and make sure my code it clean.FrontPage is best when copying and paste nearly all styles remain the same.Dreamweaver is best for everyting else, nearly. So many functions, but slow the site down. DW8 is ok better then before nothing special. Not that much changes. Please give me you opinions.Another BIG point is that DW relies on Studio 8 for some features. While FP n TS come on there own. Edited September 19, 2005 by sonu27
Zxian Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Other... Notepad++. It may not have the instant update of what the page looks like, but it's a much more hands on approach to writing the webpage. Not to mention that it does syntax highlighting...makes it really easy to see those simple mistakes that might be more difficult to see in other programs.
Kenny McCormick Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 I voted for Dreamweaver 8.0, but I use Microsoft FrontPage 2003 which I think is realy good to.
Scubar Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Other : UltraEdit-32 syntax highlighting and auto indenting makes it very easy to write and maintain all the webpage code.
atomizer Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 the "nuts and bolts" way: PSPad (great freeware alternitive to UltraEdit)the WYSIWYG + "nuts and bolts" way: NVU (also free)
sonu27 Posted September 20, 2005 Author Posted September 20, 2005 I would say TopStyle Pro is the best for CSS easily.FP got some features like clean up, dreamweavers clean up not that good.
phkninja Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 i've always used a text editor. so my vote goes for notepad (like coding. makes the page load as quick as possible, no code in a page that isnt required and also all scripts contained in a page written by me so i can debug them quicker).
hazard_abio Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Programmers Notepad,Syntax highlighting and Bracket highlighting (so you can see if you have more brackets than you need)
ripken204 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 i am so used to textpad, but dreamweaver is nice to have for debugging
albator Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 PORTABLE NVU is my choice, my website is made with it...
steven.neoh Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Frontpage is my choice because it's very user-friendly (good for newbies)
sonu27 Posted September 24, 2005 Author Posted September 24, 2005 Frontpage is my choice because it's very user-friendly (good for newbies) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Not only that but is also does things easily that DW8.
gamehead200 Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 Notepad. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Same. But I sometimes use EditPad because it has tab capabilities.
