newsposter Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 (edited) Seems that a lot of the internet shops are selling out their nForce2 boards including this one.I'm planning to stay with single core 32 bit (socket A) CPUs for a while yet. The geek attraction of 64 bit dual-core just isn't there for me (yet). As long as I can continue to buy Barton core (512 Mb cache) Athlon XP 3200+ CPUs for about $100 I'll be happy.Anyway, I am able to get a NIB v2.0 board (with the updated North/South bridge chips) for less than $50 shipped.Good buy or should I be looking at a Chaintech or Abit? Win2k3EE Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 It's SOCKET A! Slot A does NOT exist. That mobo is low-end, why don't you get MSI K7N2 Delta? It's better.
ssmokee Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 For the same price you could get a socket 754 setup w/ 64bit enabled sempron. Atleast that way you still have room to upgrade the CPU.
KamiQuazi Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 I would remmend AMD's 754 Socket, because of the added speed from the HTT(1600) ...Socket 754 MotherboardsAMD Sempron 64-bit ProcessorsMost of the boards are under $100 and most of the CPUs are under $100 also...There is a great selection out there... Just keep looking... --LIC2k7
Maleko Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 i got the A7N8X-Deluxe board, works sweet for me still! if you are planning on staying with amd for a bit, take it, but if u are gona upgrade go with above comments...ill keep my socket A until it dies! (board or cpu )
Wasim Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 you can pick up that motherboard over at ebuyer.com
