grafx1 Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 (edited) i'm sharing ADSL (router and a switch) with a friend in the same buildingwe are connected to the switchi can see him in Network places but when i try to open his computerit says access is denied, but he can access me !!he had no passwords on his machine.we had disabled authentication and firewall but no way ?each of us have a different workgroup nameThank you... jcarle Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Sounds like a permissions issue. Make sure that he computer has Simple File Sharing enabled then unshare and reshare the folder you're trying to access on his computer.

XtremeMaC Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 ok go to run and type cmdthen type ipconfig /all to get the ips of the computersthen instead of writing the name of the computer write\\ip_number_here\then it should work, also in that command screen try to ping the other computerif all fails the service might be stopped.then to go run and type services.msc and start the computer browser and other stuff...
