Browse the the location Messenger is installed to. The default is: \Program Files\MSN Messenger 3. Make a back-up of the Messenger executable - msnmsgr.exe. 4. Open Visual Studio.Net 2003. 5. From the File menu, choose the Open option and select File. 6. Browse to the Messenger installation directory and select msnmsgr.exe. Within Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, you will need to open the executable as a resource file. 7. Once the file has been opened, select "UIFILE" from the tree view, then open object 923. 8. Once opened, object 923 will be displayed in two columns: hex and text. Click on the text column, and press Ctrl-A to select the entire contents. 9. Press Ctrl-C to copy the contents to the clipboard. 10. Open Notepad or another similar text editor and paste the contents into the editing window. 11. Press Ctrl-A to select the entire contents, then Ctrl-C to copy it to the cliboard. 13. Within Microsoft Visual Studio.Net 2003, press Ctrl-V to paste the edited contents over the existing contents of object 923. 14. flupke Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Is this the hard way to remove te pub? Just get the A-Patch or the MessPatch and you can easely modify about 50 things to make MSN Messenger suit your needs and taste.

This board is not about hacking programs (in this way, at least), and has always prevented any discussion about cracking. What's next, a tutorial about how you can supposedly remove the ads in Opera by messing with the .css files?gaim rulez! ++ (link) Some of the Summer of Code stuff for it looks really neat, too.
