IE going to look like firefox and be like firefox i can't believe this

Just read this paragraph if you want more information go here: http://news.com.com/Microsoft+confirms+RSS...tag=cnetfd.buzz

If it's hip, Microsoft's planning to cram it into the next version of Windows and Internet Explorer. So far, we have tabbed browsing and an interface that looks a lot like Mac OS X between the two of them. Now, Microsoft says it'll build support for RSS into both products, and you know what that means, don't you? Podcasts! Yeah! Everybody loves 'em.

Internet Explorer will never be the same as Firefox due to many different reasons.

The security Problem with Internet Explorer will always be there due to the tight integration with the operating system - bugs in the OS or the IE often affects the entire system.

And probably the most important thing is that FireFox is and always will be OpenSource where many eyes can have a look at the source to find bugs and security holes.

Quute:

"The software maker said on Friday that it will build support for RSS into the next version of Internet Explorer, as well as into Longhorn, the Windows update scheduled to arrive next year."

Sounds like another excuse to delay codename Longhorn :P

In No way will IE EVER be Close to the REAL FIREFOX!!! :D

biggrin.gif its going 2 put firefox to shame IE 7 is da bomb .

and you have what PROOF that this could even become a theory? IE speaks for itself... but FireFox puts IE to shame

('Bill Gates' wakes up, and noticing he fell asleep at his MAC OS computer again.... )

I don't think its a matter of implementing Firefox functionalities, Martin. The problem with Internet Explorer has always been it's bloat. IE has many un-needed or seldom used "features", that only end up opening security holes or exploits.

In the case of Firefox, less is more.

Same here, Iam not saying that M$ can't copy FireFox, but almost everything that M$ makes is full of major bugs, security risks, bloat, and other non-usefull junk.

For example; Windows Media Player 10 takes a good 3-8 secs to fully load, depending on your Sys. Specs.

Windows Media Player 7 or better-yet WinAMP v5 only takes 1-3 secs on almost any PC.... Windows has awlays been know for BloatWare.

The reason Longhorn keeps getting delayed is because M$ keeps side tracking on other projects for Longhorn. Insted of making and working on one really good feature for Longhorn, testing it and then enhancing it, they decide to work on 50+ projects at the same time for Longhorn. So what we get is M$ having to keep up with thier own updates and fixes due to them being so overwhelmed and confused. working on too many things at once.... Now M$ wants to change yet another thing in Longhorn, how long will that take? How much coding and work will that affect thier prevesis work that was already completed???
