how do i change the my documents icon on a unatteneded install? I know how to change my computer network and recycle thru hive files but my documents aint there and i didnt find anything on the board.

edit your mydocs.dll file using any resource editor

resedit,reshack,restuner,restorator2004 etc... den save ur file,, modifyPE den make cab.. put it in ur i386 folder & replace...

anyway to do it thru the registry? or hives file

I also tried to change the same using a customized desktop.ini which gets copied in runonce.cmd or installs.bat. But it works sometimes at others it doesn't. But if you try and refine it, it certainly will work.

it is easier to point the new icon on a .theme file

search the net for a template

Open The Theme File You Are Going To Use With Notepad or any Text Editor

You Can Call The Icon From Any Source, You Are Not Limited To Calling

Just From The Location Listed.

This Is The Easiest Way To Change The Icons Without Hacking Windows Shell Files.
