Cannot Integrate Hotfixes

Recommended Posts

I´m not succeeding during the hotfixes integration. I have a windows xp pro with SP2 integrated but i can´t integrate the latest hotfixes that appears in windows update site.

First i´ve tried to include them in nlite. Apparently everything goes fine, but after generate the iso and install it always asks for the hotfixes again.

After that, i´ve tried the SVCPACK method. Here is my svcpack.inf file :

;Windows XP

[Version]

Signature="$Windows NT$"

MajorVersion=5

MinorVersion=1

BuildNumber=2180

[setupData]

CatalogSubDir="\i386\SVCPACK"

[ProductCatalogsToInstall]

[setupHotfixesToRun]

KB867282.exe /Q /N /Z

KB873333.exe /Q /N /Z

KB873339.exe /Q /N /Z

KB873374.exe /Q:A /R:N

KB885250.exe /Q /N /Z

KB885626.exe /Q /N /Z

KB885835.exe /Q /N /Z

KB885836.exe /Q /N /Z

KB886185.exe /Q /N /Z

KB887742.exe /Q /N /Z

KB888113.exe /Q /N /Z

KB888302.exe /Q /N /Z

KB890047.exe /Q /N /Z

KB890175.exe /Q /N /Z

KB890830.exe /Q

KB891781.exe /Q /N /Z

qchain.exe

í´ve also include in DODNET.info file the line :

[OptionalSrcDirs]

SVCPACK

Both methods aren´t working for me !

Please, can anyone help me with this ?

:(

Thanks

heres a list i made recently of hotfixes that can/can't be integrated using the /integrate switch! this is without nLite, just plain CMDs. it assumes hotfixes are in PATH:\Hotfixes\ and your WinXP is in PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU. "not working" means /integrate doesn't work so u have to do it by svcpack.inf/qchain... For the last two (post-install): i always get a popup window, so i didn't manage it silently up to now! i hope this helps (at least you can integrate some of your missing hotfixes)!

working:
PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB834707-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU
PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB873333-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU
PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB873339-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU
PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB885835-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU
PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB885836-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU
PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB886185-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU
PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB887472-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU
PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB888113-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU
PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB888302-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU
PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB890047-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU
PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB890175-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU
PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB891781-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU

not working:

PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB885250-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU

PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB867282-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU

post-install:

PATH:\Hotfixes\Windows-KB890830-ENU.exe /Q

PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB873374-gdidettool.exe /Q

Humm. When i tried to execute the fixes manually it is giving me one dialog box error . Mine is in portuguese_brazil. I will try to translate to something similar :

"Error trying to integrate this atualization package to the software. Be sure that the architecture, language and service pack level to this software atualization are correct to the destiny distribution folder"

The command i runned was :

F:\HotFixes\WindowsXP-KB873333-x86-PTB.exe /integrate:F:\WinXPSP2_PTB

As you can see, all my hotfixes are in F:\Hotfixes and the extracted image from my winxp pro with SP2 (brazil) are in F:\WinXPSP2_PTB.

Oh man , i´m losing my hair ! :}

Do you know what this can be ?

Thanks again for the patience.

Why when i try to integrate the hotfixes manualy from the run command like was posted above :

"PATH:\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB888113-x86-enu.exe /integrate:PATH:\WinXPSP2_ENU

"

I get an error saying "Error trying to integrate... be sure architecture, language and service pack level are correct..."

The hotfixes are in portuguese, the XPCD too an the architecture is i386.

I can see what´s wrong !

Any clue.

A followed the link from gunsmokingman but without success.

My Windows XP build is 2180 and the hotfixes have numbers like 5.1.(build)2600.

Pardon my ignorance but my problem is related to this ?

Thanks

Hi all

Altough I've read "IcemanND" 's thread, I'm having the same problem has you are, dudous, with Portuguese of Portugal version (escrevo em Inglês para todos perceberem, :) ).

None of my Post SP2 Hotfixes accept the "integrate" command.

I even tried the old "-s:" switch to see if it would work but no luck.

Maybe it's some error with that command since it's te first time M$ is using it in single Hotfixes.

I'll try to do it in an English version to see what happens and I'll post the results here later.

Hi Soma and all members.

I´ve tested the same procedure i´ve tried under XP Pro Portuguese_Brazil and XP Pro English version and the integration simply doesn´t work unless in English XP !!!

Unless Microsoft or someone finds a manner to solve this, it seems that we are forced to do the irritating and time consumpting update through the internet or use an English XP. (That not solves my problems)

This really p*** me off !

Any discover, please keep us informed ok ?

Thanks

Hi all

Well, just to confirm dudous previous post, my English version Hotfixes do work with the "integrate" switch, :blink: .

It seems that M$ made some error with the localized versions of the Hotfixes.

Can someone with other language versions other then the ones we already spoke of, tell us if they have it working?

Thanks to all

Are the updates you are trying to integrate in your localized language? You won't be able to integrate the English updates into a non-English install. Be sure you have the corrrect language version of the updates.

Hi all

IcemanND, yes, i've tried integrating PTG version of the hotfixes in my PTG WinXP with SP2 and it happens the error that dudous told above.

When using ENG hotfixes in ENG version of WinXP with SP2 it works.

It would be good to hear if it happens with other language versions (French, German, whatever).

Surely Ice !

I assured that all my downloaded hotfixes were from the same language as my WinXP CD (portuguese Brazil) and i´m sure Soma did it too, but for portuguese Portugal.

Gosh, I´m very sad !

nive

KB890830 is not really a hotfix but a removal tool so u cant integrate in any lang verions. Try to put KB890830.exe (rename the oryginal file) in i386\svcpack and add

KB890830.exe /q

to the svcpack.inf

To integrate KB887472 u have to disintegrate KB834707 first (or use clean xp-source without KB834707 integrated)
