  1. I know this is more than 1 year old topic but just a pointer for this subject: Can't you use the string "%AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch" instead? That way, is Language independent...
  2. If it's still in you start menu, just "right click" it and choose "show on desktop" You can also go to "Control Panel" -> "Visualisation" and check the "Desktop" Good Luck
  3. Hi You should, definately, get "CDimage_gui" to build your ISO. (There are other's but this one's free). It's very intuitive and easy to use. After you build the ISO, you can then, burn it in Easy CD, choosing "Burn Image File" or something alike. Search through the forum, you''ll find many posts that reference "cdimage". Good luck
  4. Hi all You MUST have the ident files (win51, win51.ip, win51ip.sp2, setupxp.htm, readme.htm) in the root of the cd. Otherwise, you'll get that. Good Luck
  5. Hi all IcemanND, yes, i've tried integrating PTG version of the hotfixes in my PTG WinXP with SP2 and it happens the error that dudous told above. When using ENG hotfixes in ENG version of WinXP with SP2 it works. It would be good to hear if it happens with other language versions (French, German, whatever). Cya
  6. Hi all Well, just to confirm dudous previous post, my English version Hotfixes do work with the "integrate" switch, . It seems that M$ made some error with the localized versions of the Hotfixes. Can someone with other language versions other then the ones we already spoke of, tell us if they have it working? Thanks to all
  7. Hi all Altough I've read "IcemanND" 's thread, I'm having the same problem has you are, dudous, with Portuguese of Portugal version (escrevo em Inglês para todos perceberem, ). None of my Post SP2 Hotfixes accept the "integrate" command. I even tried the old "-s:" switch to see if it would work but no luck. Maybe it's some error with that command since it's te first time M$ is using it in single Hotfixes. I'll try to do it in an English version to see what happens and I'll post the results here later. Cya
  8. Hi all Just to let you know that Portuguese Version (Portugal) also works. Just a minor thing, even if it doesn't bother me at all, but I would like some feedback from all who have done this: Did you get "file not digitally signed" on setuperr.log? It works fine but I was wondering how to get rid of this, can I had the *.cat files to SVCPACK to make it accept the new WMP10 files as if it were install or any other way? Thanks in advance
  9. Hi all When I gave this solution, it was for a Multiboot CD/DVD with BartPE, or Avast! BART CD, and all kinds of boot Apps that you may add, O&O Blue Con, Disk Commander, Norton Ghost, watever). Rico.Johnny Well, after seeing your post, I went back and retried doing, (I was pretty sure I had tested almost every possible switchs with cdimage) the ISO for my Multiboot DVD and it doesn't work. CDImage states that "Unicode filename \UBCD\WINSXS\X86_MICROSOFT.TOOLS.VISUALCPLUSPLUS.RUNTIME-LIBRARIES.RESOURCES_6595B64144CCF1DF_6.0.0.0_PT-PT_BB297039 is longer than 110 characters" Why? Because BartPE, (I've renamed my "I386" BartPE folder "UBCD") is built on an ISO9660 only with no restrictions (no Joliet File System) and when you use the "j1" switch (or the "-joliet" in mkisofs) it just stops working. (Also double-checked with Avast! BART and it uses, also, the ISO9660:1999 with no Joliet) Mind you that this only happens with ERD Commander 2005. In ERD Commander 2003, you can use all uppercase files and folders and still, every thing works. Doing the way I've done will always get things working because ERD won't mind the lack of Joliet Filesystem, as long as those two folders ( "FireFox" and "FireFoxProfile") are in lowercase. And, since Windows NT OSes (NT, 2000, XP and 2003) only need the ISO9660 directory tree, you can add, as many as you like. My personal Multiboot DVD now has: Avast! Bart CD Avast! Bart CD /INRAM Ultimate Boot CD for Windows (BartPE) Hiren's Boot CD 6 Acronis True Image 8 Acronis Disk Director Suite 9 Acronis Privacy Expert 7 O&O XL Blue Console Symantec Norton Ghost 9 Winternals Disk Commander 1.1.0 Winternals ERD Commander 2005 Winternals ERD Commander 2005 /INRAM Windows 2000 Professional Windows 2000 Server Windows 2000 Advanced Server Windows XP Home Edititon Windows XP Home Edition Unnatended (Thanks to Unnatended.msfnhosting, ) Windows XP Professional Windows 2003 All versions I'm still considering in adding win 98 and ME but I'm pretty sure that it'll work if I had it to the project. Hope this cleared some doubts. João Oliveira BTW: I've always followed flyakite's great website,
  10. Hi all Sorry, first post I've done and there was already a topic related. Here is the solution to make ERD Commander 2005 work on Multiboot Environment: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...=FireFoxProfile After that, you can do whatever you want, as long has you follow the rules to build the ISO. Even if you hex/ rename the I386 folder to ERDC (for ex:). The basic is done, Hope that helps,
  11. Hi all After much test and trial, i've finally made a Multiboot CD with ERD Commander 2005 and BartPE, and other boot applications, for that matter (Avast!, O&O Blue Con, etc...). The problem when we add ERD in a normal way, it just stops working the web browser (Firefox) wich is included in it. That happens because the ERD ".ISO" is made in iso9660 level 1 and Joliet tree directory. When we add it to Multiboot with BartPE and build the new ".ISO", we set files to UPPERCASE and that's what maskes it go wrong. But, even if we set the ".ISO" building to -allow-lowercase, it will still won't work because, then, when we start ERD, it won't see the ntdetect.com and all the other files, since their in lowercase. Major Bummer, So, i've found a way to break it, making a iso9660 level 4 from the ERD ".ISO" first, How?!? Easy pie, once you get the hang of it. Just for your information, the only directories (and the files inside them) that have to be in lowercase are, "Firefox" and FirefoxProfile" inside the SYSTEM32. BTW, I did this with UltraISO, you can use whatever you like, as long as you can have control over the building of the ".ISO" file. 1st: Make your ERD iso with Winternals Pak. Then extract all of the files and directories to a folder of your choice, let's assume to "C:\erdiso". 2nd: Open UltraISO and make a new iso from "C:\erdiso", setting the iso properties to "Iso9660" with "Max(221)" and "Omit version number ISO9660" ticked, ONLY THIS OPTIONS. Don't forget to load the boot file. This will make an all UPPERCASE ERD Commander that will fail to work the web browser. Now, save it to, let's say, "C:\ISOs\ERD_alpha.iso" 3rd: Extract your "ERD_alpha.iso" to a new folder, for example, "C:\erd_uppercase". Now delete both "FIREFOX" and "FIREFOXPROFILE" directories inside "I386\SYSTEM32". Then copy/paste both "FireFox" and "FireFoxProfile" directories from "C:\erdiso\i386\system32" to "C:\erd_uppercase\I386\SYSTEM32" directory. 4th: Open UltraISO once more and make a new ISO from "C:\erd_uppercase" but, on the ISO properties tick the "allow lowercases" box also. It will be an IS09660 with "Max(221) caracters, with lowcase and no version number, hence iso level 4. Save that iso to whatever you want and check if every thing is working to the full, web browser, network, etc... You can burn it to a CD-RW or use VMware to test it. After checking that it's working the way it should, you can safely delete the folders you created for this project. After you have this iso made, you can use it to make your multiboot CD/DVD, taking just the precaution to use BartPE already in uppercase and all other things you want to use and use the "allow-lowercase" when you build the ISO. Ex: "mkisofs.exe -iso-level 4 -allow-lowercases......" Ex: "cdimage.exe -h -n -d -o -m -c ..........." Ex: Use UltraISO with the same last configuration of the ISO properties with the "Optimize" box ticked. ATTENTION: Do not use the "EasyBoot" "Make ISO" function or you'll have an all uppercase ISO again. Use UltraISO.--^^ And that is that, B) Hope this will help someone. Greetings to all João Oliveira
