Corrupted Option In Explorer

Featured Replies

Under Explorer, if I do Tools/Folder Options/View, under "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" there is an option called "ioaiooiaioeoieioaoie...." except there are strange marks over the ioaea and eaoieo parts

I know I've been installing a lot of different things, but I was wondering if anyone else has seen this.

After installing my pack, mydocs.dll is mistakenly contains 1 russian string.

It means "Show My Documents on Desktop"

i got that too

could you fix that along with the black color along the icons or is that not possible for the next version???

what was it were you guys installing that you are getting this problem?

the Unofficial Win98se SP 2.0 rc1 or MDGx's 98se2me pack?

maybe the mydocs.dll file is a russian version and not the US english version.

Right-click on the mydocs.dll file from the Windows\System folder and choose

Properties and click on the Version tab of that file.

I did SP2.0 RC1 and don't have that. But I have a different Explorer: here it's View/Folder option. It's not under Tools.

ioaiooiaioeoieioaoie...

It's Tyrolian traditional song. Maybe you installed the Austrian pack?

mooooouuuuuu-hahahaha! a tyrolian traditional song? how comical.

The Folder Options command can be featured under the Tools menu if you

install IE 5.01, 5.5 or higher. If you have IE 5.0 or less, then the Folder

Options command is not under Tools menu and only featured in View menu.

This is assuming the Windows version used is Win98 or NT4.

The Folder Options command is under Tools if using Win2000, ME or XP.

The "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" option is

NOT included in Windows 9x/NT4 systems. It's only featured in

Windows 2000, ME, XP & 2003 systems. I'm beginning to think you

guys may have installed MDGx's 98se2me pack under a Win98se system.

No way. 98se2me doesn't have any files modded by Tihiy that might contain Russian chars.

The only files modded by Tihiy included with 98se2me are msconfig.exe + regenv32.exe .

guess the 98SE2ME pack wasn't the problem. they might have installed an Austrian pack as Fredledingue said.
