cancer10 Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 Friends, I just launched a small application (ImageX - Easy View) and need to beta test it....plz help me in beta testing....Your feedback is important to us.What is ImageX - Easy View?ImageX - Easy view is a completely freeware image viewer application. Helps you navigate all the images on your hard disk one by one or with a auto slideshow viewer. Pretty easy to use. Download Beta Version Here
Martin L Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 here is a list from me :-the graphics are crap, better hire a good designer.-the slideshow makes the graphics spread all over the screen, which results in a very ugly graphic.couldnt find any more things till now... maybe more support for different music types? just my 2 cents, martin l
Martin L Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 also i closed the program, but it was still running in my taskmanager and it stopt windows from shutting down
XtremeMaC Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 slideshow didn't start on mine. it just displayed a black background on my first try when i had just set the image path. then it started working after i choosed the display timea default value on the display time would be nice.also the pictures are adjusted to 800*600 or something, they all seem to be not in shape.fit to screen method should be like in acdsee's which means it should show the maximum either when width or height it bigger keeping the aspect ratio.an OKAY or SET button on the select directory screen would be nice, i look all over for such a thing and wasn't sure if it was going to keep the setting.when i exited the program it was not in the running apps list, i agree on the crappiness of the images. they are crappy. an address bar for changing the folder would be nice, like a toolbaralso image association sort of thing? i mean i never open my image viewing program and then start browsing, i usually click on the image or the folder.. on the about box, clicking on the system info tool crashed imagex, i frankly don't see any use of that button anyways.i selected another directory to view and it appended the files in that folder under the select directory tab, i'd prefer only to see those files instead of all my pictures....it decoded jpg bmp gif afaik..
cancer10 Posted February 9, 2005 Author Posted February 9, 2005 Guys,Thankx 4 all the time u spent on my application and on the feedback. I really appreciate 4 ur kind help. I will look forward to make this application bug free. BTW, I have uploaded a newer beta version which has more advanced directory settings. URL is the same as above. Give it a try.2 more things:1) What else image extensions can u suggest me? 2) What more sound types u can suggest me to include?Thanx again 4 ur help.,
XtremeMaC Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 hmm loading screen, took to long to load..slideshow still messes up the aspect ratio
SiMoNsAyS Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 (edited) ok this is my list...my first impression is that it take a lot of time to load.toolbar icons and program icon are 256 color and they look crappy. i would suggest to go for a better looking interface. if you want to contact me i'll be glad to make them, just tell me what you need.when not on slideshow images are shown as real size and you can't totally view them because there isn't a bar at the bottom/right. i would like to choose between fit image (vertical, horizontal or both).i miss a configuration dialog from where you can add/remove extensions associated.what extensions? well i think with this would be enough... .bmp .bw .dcx .dib .emf .gif .iff .ilbm .jfif .jif .jpe .jpeg .jpg .kdc .lbm .pcd .pcx .pic .pix .png .psd .rgb .rgba .rle .sgi .tga .tif .tiff .wmf ... i know, i know on slideshow, shortcuts are a bit difficult to reach. Ctrl+P, Ctrl+N are easy to remember but a problem if you want to move over many images. i would suggest to go for "spacebar" and "back", "enter" to change between slideshow and default views, or better, a config menu to choose keys.finally i would also like to select (from the config dialog before) if start on slideshow mode or not (it will also be nice if you can add a tree view to select image files).that's all i think, if you can do it i'll stick to it without doubts Edited February 9, 2005 by SiMoNsAyS

cancer10 Posted February 14, 2005 Author Posted February 14, 2005 ImageX - Easy View [beta 2] has just released...please try it. I think I will release the final version if no bugs is found in this version.Thanx for taking out some time and testing the software.http://beta.cisindia.net
XtremeMaC Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 final version? this quick i think it needs more to it good thing the slideshow now shows pictures in aspect ratio, but it'd be a lot good if it was centered on the screen i still don't like the idea to be selecting a folder, instead a folder list like in explorer's would be a nice way to navigate. it still loads slow.the image dimensions shown at the bottom right corner are wrong! test image is at 708x1066 your software shows it as 10620x15990 ????fit to screen should fit at max height/max widthit still doesn't show any scrollbars when the image is bigger then the window and part of the picture is shown.
MCT Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 i think ill stick with Picasa2 good effort , but if this is the "final" i dont really feel it fits my needs
