pcdreams Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 is there a way to bypass the "press any key to boot from cd" prompt. So you just pop the disk in and walk away?
ripken204 Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 search the forum,ive asked this b4 but 4got the answer
MCT Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 yep, u should only use that method IF u have a boot menu (like cdshell) or something else
durex Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Im pretty sure you wouldnt get a loop if it was a bootable cd... it would just simply boot to the cd automatically if you had it in there
Incroyable HULK Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 The point is Windows will re-start the installation process from the beginning after each reboot...You must do this with a Multi-Boot menu.
pcdreams Posted February 4, 2005 Author Posted February 4, 2005 so there is no way to properly do this?
Incroyable HULK Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 The only way I know you can work with a CD where you removed the BOOTFIX.BIN file it the following:In you BIOS, you'll have to set the boot device priority to1- HARD DRIVE2- CD-ROMSo when you boot for the first time, since there is nothing to boot on the hard drive, it will boot from the CD-ROM. After the TextSetup mode is done, the computer reboot and will continue to the hard drive since there is something to boot now...Remember that your Hard Drive must NOT be bootable for this to work...
durex Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Or you could just pull out your cd after the restart....
amp_man Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 and if the hard drive is already bootable, just use the F12 boot menu option that most bios's have...
