dencorso
OK, I have read around that Skype works OK with Win 98 SE up to versions 1.xx.I do know many of these are available through oldversion. Now my question is, from those available, which version should I install, or, in other words, which is the last version of Skype known to work OK with Win 98 SE? Please advise.Edit 13th October 2007 - 05:27 PM:Thanks Analada and North of Watford for your swift replies in the posts below. You rock! It's just over 7MB.
North of Watford
I haven't been a fan of Skype, so only recently installed it for a specific need. Looking on the Skype site they do put a rather low number, but then reading the small print, that is the last one that they will guarantee to work. After that, they should work, but at your risk. I am using 3.2.0.175 on a Win98SE system without problem so far. Just remember that video is not available (unless someone here has written the necessary drivers that MS left out)

RetroOS
Hi,I've used versions of Skype from 2.0 up to current 3.5 in Windows 98SE.Aside from video that is unstable, the only problems I had was when I used it on 56k dial-up.Since I moved to DSL, I've had no issues unless I load up a large app at the same time as using Skype. In this case, Windows 98SE's not-so-good multi-tasking makes the sound choppy for a moment.
