And that page confirms the thought that "-default" or "-defaultprofile" simply uses the profile created by default (in %appdata%).

The syntax I was referring to is:

"C:\program files\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe" -profile defaults\profile"

This is supposed to load the defaults\profile folder...

and by the way the method described in that link above with the 'portable' mozilla apps, works great.

I couldve sworn there was a thread of programs that you could say, toss on a usb key and use on any pc; as opposed to having to re-install the program.

So now just run it with that switch, configure/install-extensions, and SFX it up for extraction to new install!

another little tidbit Ive found, it doesnt have to be that particular syntax either... lets say you wanted to leave the default profile intact, you could run firefox using -profile <whatever folder> and it will install and use that one.
