Astalavista Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Nullsoft Winamp is a fast, flexible, high-fidelity media player for Windows. Winamp supports playback of many audio (MP3, OGG, AAC, WAV, MOD, XM, S3M, IT, MIDI, etc) and video types (AVI, ASF, MPEG, NSV), custom appearances called skins (supporting both classic Winamp 1.x/2.x skins and Winamp 3 freeform skins), audio visualization and audio effect plug-ins (including two industry dominating visualization plug-ins), an advanced media library, Internet radio and TV support, CD ripping, and CD burning.Winamp 5.06 Pro Features:- Play Music and Video Files- Full Featured Media Library- Integrated Internet Radio & TV- Supports Modem and Classic Skins- Tripped Out Visualizations- Rip/Encode Music into MP3- Burn CDs up to 48xChanges in Winamp 5.06:* Fixed crashbug when clearing the playlist and then right clicking on the songticker* Security bug fixes* Lots of small bugfixes* JTFE v0.96ff
Tarun Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Winamp 5.06 Pro Features:- Play Music and Video Files- Full Featured Media Library- Integrated Internet Radio & TV- Supports Modem and Classic Skins- Tripped Out Visualizations- Rip/Encode Music into MP3- Burn CDs up to 48xThe burning and ripping of mp3's is probably the worst I've encountered. Cd's burned are at different volume levels. Cd's ripped often have audio "burps" or "hiccups" near the end of the mp3s.CdEx is far better for ripping mp3s.
Astalavista Posted November 19, 2004 Author Posted November 19, 2004 i never had any problems on my system.but to be honest i like musicmatch better when it comes to ripping also blaze is also another good ripping software.but why do u need to rip anyways does anyone really still buy audio cds?
Dynaletik Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 I hope Alanoll will do an msi for this version as well....
battleangel3222 Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Oh, Also, apparently you have been mis informed because Nullsoft has explained numerous times that they are not dead, and Winamp will continue to be updated.
battleangel3222 Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Then perhaps you should learn to read Reading is Fun! http://www.winamp.com/about/article.php?aid=10627

prathapml Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 @AstalavistaI agree. MusicMatch was my fave for ripping CDs and converting from audio-tapes to MP3. (not now, since I started liking winamp 5.x better)Winamp Pro 5.0.6 is Out! last oneWhatcha mean? They been saying that since a lot of time now, but it still hasn't died and I hope never dies. To be realistic, the root of the current problems at AOL-winamp is the exit of one of the lead devs.Lastly, is there any reason this topic was posted in "Unattended --> Application Switches" ? :confused:Coz nothing related to such a classification seems to be here! Anyways, unattending v5.06 is still gonna be the same method as older ones:Either:1. Alanoll makes you a new MSI. ---OR---2. You use "/S" switch + taskkill winamp.exe method.
Astalavista Posted November 19, 2004 Author Posted November 19, 2004 sorry... i forgot to put the switch...REG ADD %Key%\150 /VE /D "Winamp 5.0.6" /fREG ADD %Key%\150 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Software\winamp\winamp506_pro.exe /S" /fREG ADD %Key%\150 /V 2 /D "pskill.exe winamp.exe" /fREG ADD %key%\150 /V 3 /D "%CDROM%\Software\Winamp\Winampini.exe" /fREG ADD %key%\150 /V 4 /D "%CDROM%\Software\Winamp\Winampini2.exe" /fwinampini.exe is from winamp's folderwinampini.exe is from windows.
totoymola Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 I agree with Musicmatch. It's ripping feature is really fast.
