Aaron Posted October 19, 2001 Posted October 19, 2001 WinKey + LWinKey is between your CTRL and ALT key.If you want your PC lock to be password-protected, set a password on your admin account in the Control Panel > Users section. You can use TweakUI to login automatically with your password to save you typing it in on WinXP boot up.
Micropocalypse Posted October 20, 2001 Author Posted October 20, 2001 hmm read this before somewhere, just takes me to my login screen. i think it is logout.
Aaron Posted October 20, 2001 Posted October 20, 2001 Yes it does look like a login screen, but it doesn't reload all your background apps like a proper login does. Your apps are still active when you lock the PC.
Micropocalypse Posted October 20, 2001 Author Posted October 20, 2001 yeah, i wanted to lock it so nobody could get on but me, thatway other people couldnt use the computer.

[/quote:267a962ef0]Yeah, thats Winkey and L. Its what I use on my Lan Arena, nobody else can get in. I have fast user switching disabled so its not that.
PriZm77 Posted October 20, 2001 Posted October 20, 2001 you can also make a short cut to:%windir%System32rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStationthat will lock it down
Aaron Posted October 20, 2001 Posted October 20, 2001 That shortcut works a treat on Win2k as well!! Saves me having to CTRL ALT DEL and selecting "Lock Computer"
Micropocalypse Posted October 21, 2001 Author Posted October 21, 2001 put your mouse over switch user in th log off screen, read the baloon help.
python134r Posted October 21, 2001 Posted October 21, 2001 I opened every proggie I had and ran a cpu burn test and "locked" xp up! Just a little humor.
Rick Posted October 21, 2001 Posted October 21, 2001 Python...I just tried what you suggested and now my CPU has burned up completely! What do I do now???Rick:D
Micropocalypse Posted October 24, 2001 Author Posted October 24, 2001 if you disable fast user switching you can lock your computerby useing the shortcut, winkey + l, or from menu in task manager.
