MtK Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 @GMI saw your post in the thread RyanVM Windows XP SP2 Update Pack & I'm curios:can it be used with XPC?
homiebrah Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 It should work with no problems. If you have the HighMAT patch, remove it from XPCREATE and do not have the hotfix download set to run. I am testing it now in VMWare, and I'll let you know how it goes.In XPCREATE.INI, change the following:DLAUTO=YEStoDLAUTO=NO
homiebrah Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 Works in VMWare and on an active machine. No updates reported from Windows Update.Good work on RyanVM's part.
GreenMachine Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 It may, or may not, work. However, using it kind of defeats the purpose of XPCREATE. As I've done with other projects in the past, I am adding this to the Unsupported list. That is not to say that it does not work, but to say that I will not be testing it with XPCREATE. Beware that both the pack and XPCREATE may need to modify the same files, thus raising compatability issues ...
tarquel Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 Yep...agreed.It didnt work wth me when I tried adding it to a fresh xpcreate install.(No offense to RyanVM that is )Regards,N.
GreenMachine Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 Of course, no offense to RyanVM. I'm sure he understands. The point is just that my debugging is in XPCREATE, not in XPCREATE in combination with other programs that modify the same files. Simply GreenMachine keeping the work load in check.
tarquel Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 I know GM.I was agreeing with you, I was apologising to him in case my post offended thats all Regards,N.
Vadikan Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 It may, or may not, work. However, using it kind of defeats the purpose of XPCREATE.Ryan's done a very good job, and I've thanked him in the appropriate thread. However, I'd say XPC users don't need Ryan's pack at all. It's like trying to sit on two chairs. A couple of hacked dlls can be added manually.
RyanVM Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 I agree with what you've all said and thanks for the nice words
GreenMachine Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 It aint over till the fat lady sings, though I have started cheering for the Cards.(We still have the Pats: 19 in a row ... at the moment ... 7:0)
homiebrah Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 Nice words? Must must have been me!19-8 Seems the Yankee fans come out of the woodwork every year...At least we got ours from the Yanks.2001, D-Backs win 4-3.And dispels the notion that Rivera is unhuman...
