holzer Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 i just finished integrating adobe creative suite, boasting my unattended dvd to 5.5gb... and now suddenly setup hangs at the beginning, where it says "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration..." it's obviously just the size because if i remove some apps then it works again.. i have only tested this on vmware actually, out of dl-dvd's atm .. but does anyone know of a size limit for unattened dvd's? is this maybe (hopefully) just a vmware thing?
bucketbuster Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 Maybe your virtual harddrive isn't big enough?
holzer Posted September 28, 2004 Author Posted September 28, 2004 nah, it's 10gb, and it hangs right at the beginning of windows setup.. thats not the time to worry about enough space for applications.. (i don't copy the source files to the hdd.. and then still..)
toe_cutter Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 same problem here aswell, but only in virtual pc, it works fine when used IRL, so get a DVD-RW and try it out anyway
RyanVM Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 I seem to recall VirtualPC having problems with ISOs over a certain size (though my recollection is fuzzy on the matter since I haven't seen anything about it in quite awhile), so if that's the case, it wouldn't surprise me if VMWare had the same problems.
Alanoll Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 my DVDs fill up the 4.37 gigs of a single DVD, and I have no problems. But I use VMWare. Never bothered adding more, as I don't have any duallayer media....
Cee-Kay Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 Just a suggestion holzer, but have you tried mounting the image of your Unattended DVD using something like Alcohol, Daemon Tools etc... Then selecting CD > 'Use physical drive X:' within VirtualPC.Maybe this will solve your problem.
holzer Posted September 29, 2004 Author Posted September 29, 2004 Just a suggestion holzer, but have you tried mounting the image of your Unattended DVD using something like Alcohol, Daemon Tools etc... Then selecting CD > 'Use physical drive X:' within VirtualPC.Maybe this will solve your problem. thats a pretty good idea.. gonna try it right away.. i just hope toe_cutter is right and it works when burned...
holzer Posted September 29, 2004 Author Posted September 29, 2004 still nothing... let's just hope it works on a real dvd.. but i kinda got a bad feeling about it now..
PoNi Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 I know this is kinda of off you subject but how did you install the Adobe Creative suite ??? Did you have to do each app individually ?
Astalavista Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 i am using a dual layer disc now 9 gig capacity no problemo
