Stuntgp2000 Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 Is there any way to make Windows XP SP1 detects HD over 137GB ? Because my new 200GB HD don't get entirly recognized by Windows XP SP1. Thanks in advance
bucketbuster Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 Here you go:this worked for me.Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Parameters]"EnableBigLba"=dword:00000001
Bâshrat the Sneaky Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 :s Over here Windows XP SP1 detects my 160 GB HDD (~150GB real) without any problems or modifications...
gamehead200 Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 There shouldn't be any problems with XP... Maybe your BIOS has to be updated!

bucketbuster Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 My BIOS did support it, but my Windows XP SP1 didn't.Only after editing the registry, I got the full 160GB.
LameBMX Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 windows supports it .. just dont have it enabled in the regristry... id really like to see an installer hack that would let you install windows on a >137GB harddrive
